Lydia joined RCC in 2006, after serving as a staff attorney in the United States Court of Appeals for the Seventh Circuit and as law clerk to the Honorable James B. Moran in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois.
Lydia has litigated and counseled clients in a variety of different matters, including mechanic's lien, commercial contract, employment and civil rights, fraud, RICO, and partnership disputes. Lydia practices in state and federal court, and has taken cases to trial in both Cook and DuPage Counties.
Notable Engagements
- EEOC v. WRS (N.D. Ill.) - Represent eleven intervening plaintiffs alongside the EEOC in employment discrimination case against corporation that includes allegations of noose hangings and other invidious acts of discrimination. Litigation ongoing.
- Josleyn v. Hydro Aluminum (N.D. Ind.) - Represented aluminum manufacturing company against disability and age discrimination claims; successfully defeated all claims by motion for summary judgment.
- Conners v. Wolverine (Ill.) - Represented risk arbitrage fund manager at trial in victorious claim for compensation against former employer, and successfully defended client against company's trade secret and breach of fiduciary duty claims.
- Confidential Cases - Represented numerous individuals in employment discrimination suits against their former employers, reaching favorable resolutions through mediation and settlement.
